WP Managify

Some plugin updates are not showing in WP Managify

Have you noticed that certain plugin updates don’t appear in WP Managify, even though they are clearly pending in your WordPress dashboard? Don’t worry — this is a common situation, especially when dealing with premium or third-party plugins. Below we explain why this happens, what we are doing to solve it, and what you can do in the meantime.

Why does this happen?

Premium Plugins: Many premium plugins use their own licensing system and update servers, which bypass the official WordPress.org repository.

Custom Update Paths: Since WP Managify checks against the WordPress repository, it may not always detect pending updates from external sources.

License Restrictions: Some plugins require license verification inside WordPress before updates can be pulled, making them invisible to our platform.

What are we doing about it?

Our team is actively working to extend WP Managify’s update manager to support all types of plugins — including premium and custom ones. The goal is to give you a single dashboard where you can update everything without switching back to individual WordPress sites.

This feature is on our development roadmap, and future versions of WP Managify will include full support for premium plugin updates.

Temporary solution

While we work towards this goal, here is a practical solution:

1. Update from WordPress

  • Log in to your WordPress dashboard and update the premium plugins directly from there.

2. Sync with WP Managify

  • After updating, go back to WP Managify and use the Reload/Sync button in the Update Manager.
  • This will refresh your website’s plugin list and reflect the updated versions.

3. Check in Reports

  • Once synced, you’ll see the correct plugin versions displayed in WP Managify.
  • Updated plugins will also be shown as “completed” in any maintenance reports you generate for your clients.

Benefits of Syncing After Manual Updates

  • Ensures your WP Managify dashboard is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Keeps client-facing reports consistent by showing the latest plugin versions.
  • Prevents confusion by aligning your WordPress site’s actual status with WP Managify’s monitoring system.

Conclusion

Some premium plugin updates may not appear in WP Managify due to their unique update mechanisms. For now, you can update them directly inside WordPress and then sync with WP Managify to ensure everything is correctly reflected in your reports.

We appreciate your patience and are committed to enhancing your experience with WP Managify.
