Managing Backups in WP Managify

The Backup feature in WP Managify helps you secure your website by creating instant or scheduled backups of your WordPress files and database. You can manage backup activity, configure settings, and restore your website if needed.

1. Backup Activity

 

In the Activity tab, you can:

Create Instant Backups

 

  • Click Create Backup to make a backup of your website at any time.
  • Useful before making updates or major changes to your site.

View Backup List

 

See all previous backups, including:

  • Date and Time – When the backup was created.
  • Size – File size of the backup.
  • Backup Type – Database only, Files only, or Full Backup.
  • Status – Completed, In Progress, or Failed.
  • Download Option – Download completed backups to your local device.

Manage Backups

 

  • Delete Backups – Remove older backups to free up storage space.
  • Next Backup Schedule – Displayed at the top, showing when the next automatic backup will run.

2. Backup Settings

 

In the Settings tab, you can customize how your backups are created.

Elements to Include

 

Choose what to back up:

  • Database – Includes all WordPress tables.
  • WordPress Files – Includes themes, plugins, and uploads.
  • WordPress + Database – A full site backup (recommended).

Schedule Recurrence

 

Set how often backups are made automatically:

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly (choose the exact day and time)

 Note: The first backup runs instantly, then future backups follow the set schedule.

Backup Retention

 

  • Defines how long backups are stored.
  • Example: Monthly backups are stored for 45 days.

Storage Usage

 

  • Shows how much of your allocated backup storage is used (e.g., 0.123 GB of 10 GB).

Best Practices for Backups

 

  • Always create a manual backup before updating WordPress, plugins, or themes.
  • Schedule daily or weekly backups depending on how often your site changes.
  • Keep at least 3 recent backups for safety.
  • Regularly download backups to local storage for extra security.
